The Hauntographer’s Guide to Echoes of the Unknown
By Jennifer McGuigan

Some people dream of building a business. I think, deep down, I always dreamed of chasing ghosts.
My name is Jennifer, and I’m the founder of Echoes of the Unknown — a haunted history experience rooted in curiosity, community, and the shadows we can’t quite explain. I’m a writer, an educator, a storyteller… and someone who’s spent her life sensing the things most people try not to notice.
My journey into the paranormal didn’t start with research. It started in a house in Lockport, Illinois, where strange knocks, flickering lights, and a friendly ghost girl named Pink became part of our everyday lives. Pink liked the movie Mrs. Doubtfire. She wasn’t scary — she was just there. And from that point on, I started listening harder to the places most people ignore.
Years later, I attended Millikin University, where the hauntings followed me. In the dorms, on the stage, in quiet corners of campus — the stories never stopped. I wasn’t alone in noticing them. I wasn’t imagining things. And more importantly, I wasn’t the only one who wanted to know more.

🎙 Why I Created Echoes of the Unknown

This business began as a whisper — a calling to preserve the hidden stories of the places we pass every day. From the unmarked graves of Lincoln Park to the dark corners of university basements, every city has its ghosts. But for most people, they stay buried. Forgotten. Dismissed.
I created Echoes of the Unknown to change that.
This isn’t just a ghost tour company. It’s a history project. A storytelling platform. A community space for believers, skeptics, wanderers, and memory-keepers.
Whether you're walking with us through a haunted park, exploring a self-guided tour with your flashlight in hand, or coloring in pages from a mailed field journal, you’re becoming part of the story. You’re helping keep it alive.

🕯 My Mission

To unearth haunted histories and forgotten folklore with empathy, accuracy, and a healthy dose of chill-down-your-spine mystery.
To empower curious people to explore their world with open eyes and maybe a little shiver.
To make space for the weird, the wonderful, and the what ifs.
